iCapture™ to help modernize Indiana Department of Workforce
Development
WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--October 17, 2005
Impression Technology is pleased to announce that it is part
of the team that has been selected by the State of Indiana Department
of Workforce Development (DWD) to assist in the reengineering
and technology upgrade of the Departments business systems over
the next three years.
Led by Haverstick Consulting of Indianapolis, the team includes
Tier Technology, Source, Crew Technical Services, Number 6, FileNet
Corporation and Impression Technology. The multi-year, multi-million
dollar contract involves the implementation of the Tier Technology
UI Connect solution as well as the installation of automated data
capture, imaging and workflow systems that will be provided by
Impression and FileNet. The design of the data capture, imaging
and workflow systems has been based on the highly successful solution
that was installed at the Unemployment Insurance Agency in the
State of Michigan and automated data capture technology that Impression
has employed at similar Departments in California, Oregon and
Wyoming.
“DWD has, as some of the objectives of this project, the
requirement to improve customer service; to minimize the generation
and movement of paper throughout the organization, and to eliminate
labor intensive and repetitive tasks associated with the processing
of claims and tax forms”, stated Bruce Lechner, Vice President
of Impression. “We’re pleased to be a member of this
team and we believe our selection was primarily based on our ability
to show that our current clients have met or exceeded their goals
and expectations in these areas. We’re also excited that
the iCapture™ solution will be
one of the first implemented as a part of the Haverstick “Quick
Wins” strategy as we expect to be in full production operations
within a year, generating measurable savings and benefits for
DWD as the project continues.”
The iCapture™ solution will include
two high speed Kodak Document Scanners, Import Adapters from Impression
to capture transactions that DWD receives via facsimile, an Internet
capability for electronic transactions, ICR/OCR and barcode recognition,
multiple edit stations for document indexing and data perfection
and interfaces to the FileNet supplied image repository and the
Tier UI Connect solution. Impression will also assist DWD in the
redesign of existing forms to optimize automated recognition and
provide services related to testing, training, and on-going maintenance
and support for future operations.
