California Disability Insurance selects Impression Technology

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.- June, 2010

The California Employment Development Department has initiated another in a series of automation projects designed to benefit the state's workforce by selecting iCapture from Impression Technology for the front-end processing of disability insurance claim forms. The Disability Insurance Automation project was initiated to automate and speed the processing of State Disability Insurance (SDI) claims. Over 12.6 million California workers are covered by the SDI program and Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York, Hawaii, plus the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, are the only other states to provide disability insurance for their work force. Disability Insuarnce is designed to help workers who are unable to work due to non work-related illness, injury, or pregnancy. Although work-connected disabilities are covered by Workers' Compensation laws, DI benefits may also be paid for work-related illnesses or injuries under certain circumstances prescribed by law.
