iCapture™ Selected for California Child Support Document
and Image Processing
WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--November 03, 2004
Impression Technology’s iCapture suite of automated data
capture software has been selected as one of the core components
of the new California Child Support Processing System that will
be installed in Sacramento, California in mid-2005. Impression
Technology was part of the team that included the Bank of America,
First Data Government Solutions and Unisys Corporation in winning
this highly competitive procurement.
“This is a significant win for Impression”, stated
Mike Tokuyama, the President of Impression Technology. “The
iCapture solution has earned its outstanding reputation for high
volume data capture operations in the Tax, Revenue and Health
Care markets and we are very pleased to have the opportunity to
demonstrate its effectiveness in the processing of these complex,
non-structured forms”.
The solution that will be provided by the project team will
include high speed mail opening equipment, document scanning,
automated data capture, remittance processing and a sophisticated
imaging and workflow system to support exception processing. The
system design addresses the requirement to process up to 75,000
transactions per day that may include up to 225,000 images per
day, making this system the largest Child Support System that
will be installed within the US to meet Federal and State requirements.
Impression has customized iCapture to deal with the un-structured
types of documents that are received and a White Paper entitled
“Optimizing Recognition for Free Form Tables” is available
on the Impression website that describes some of the enhancements
embedded into iCapture for this project. The iCapture system will
be fully integrated with both a remittance and imaging system
that will be supplied by Unisys. The system will be installed
in Sacramento, California in the summer of 2005 and full production
operations will commence in late 2005 following an extensive period
of Acceptance Testing by State project personnel.
Impression Technology will deliver its portion of the Child Support
System under a fixed priced subcontract to Unisys. For further
