California Board of Equalization selects Impression Technology’s
iCapture™
WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--December 23, 2002
Impression Technology, a leading supplier of automated Data Capture
solutions for both the Public and Private sectors, is pleased
to announce it has been selected by the State of California Board
of Equalization (BOE) to provide a Key Data Entry solutions for
its Key Data Entry Unit in Sacramento, California. The "Key
From Paper" (KFP) system, which is an integral component
of the iCapture™ product suite,
will replace the BOE's legacy key data entry system and will process
various Excise and Use Tax forms filed by public and private entities
across California. The system will support the capture of critical
information from approximately 5,000,000 returns and/or documents
per year.
The BOE is responsible for administering statewide tax programs
such as sales and use taxes, property taxes, special taxes and
the tax appellate program. These programs have historically provided
more than 33 percent of the state's tax revenue, thus the system
is considered a ‘mission critical’ application by
the Board.
